Closet Organization

Jocelyn Jauregui

Hello,

I have some closet organization tips that you might enjoy.

First off, are the skirt/pant hangers. I'm using these for skirts, shorts, leggings, and even strapless shirts and dresses. They're probably my favorite thing in my closet right now! Plus they save me so much space after stacking them!!! We both know what that means.... more space for more stuff, right.... ha ha... okay, let's move on :)

Next up are the shoe storage boxes. I used to have a shoe rack in my closet... Let's just say I have so many shoes... It's not even funny. I got a 36 pack from eBay for about $88 and in some of them, I'm able to fit 2 or more shoes. (I'm a size 6.5 in US women) I prefer the boxes over any other shoe organization tip because I am able to line them up and stack them horizontally along the bottom of my closet and above my closet shelf. With the shoe rack, I only had the spaces available on the rack going vertically, and the shelf space on top.... but shoes always ended up being thrown in there and on the floor of my closet. Therefore, I prefer these so much more. It's like each pair has it's own space where it belongs and I can easily see what shoes are inside the box since it's pretty see through.

* eBay also has options, it's where I actually bought mine from. Here are some from amazon that are similar to mine.

Next, I decided to buy some hangers. I moved all of my clothes into my closet and I didn't have enough hangers, so I bought 6 packs from Target for $2 each. The main purpose for buying so many hangers was to give my closet a uniform look and have all the hangers match, instead of leaving them mismatch. Trust me, It looks a lot better, and a lot more organized in my opinion. I did have some white ones that I kept because.... I still somehow needed more hangers lol

* these are the exact hangers I got, but target has the same 18 pack for $2.

Another tip I have for you is a hanging shelf. This is the one I purchased back in 2018 and I've changed up what I put in it throughout time, until I found what worked best for me. For my closet, I fold in the chunkier jackets and sweaters so I have more space to hang my slimmer jackets and sweaters. Since this is a vertical shelf, I'm able to fold in about 13ish jackets rather than just hang up 2-3 of those jackets in the space it takes up on my hanging rod.

Lastly, I just wanted to mention these space saving hangers. They're pretty useful and they did the trick when I needed the space, but I got rid of 4 bags of clothes and decided I could let these go too. Hopefully, this motivates me to only keep what fits in my closet and continue letting go of more clothes if I need to make more space.
